DE GEA READY FOR DERBY

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea has said that the Manchester Derby between them and Manchester city will be crucial in determining the destination of the title. United lead the Premier league title race by five points ahead of Manchester City with only four matches remaining in the season.

However, City have the opportunity to reduce the gap to just two points if they win the match against Manchester United at the Etihad stadium on April 30. David De Gea also says that this game will be determining the destination of the title. City appeared to lose momentum in the title race just at the crucial time, but the return of Carlos Tevez to the first-team action has once again made them invincible.

They have scored 10 goals in their last two matches, while United suffered a defeat against relegation threatened Wigan only a few days ago. Despite suffering the shock defeat at the hands of Wigan, United came back in great style in the match against Aston Villa to beat the Midlands club 4-0. United are looking to win a record 20th Premier league title, while City are looking to grab their first ever Premier league title. City definitely have the tougher run in than United.

“We have the title in our hands. A five-point advantage is good, but the derby against Manchester City will be key. We want to win this match and to celebrate winning the title. The last four matches are complicated, and after the defeat to Wigan we do not want any more problems,” the keeper told reporters.

The Spanish keeper also admitted that Chelsea do not have a chance of progressing past Barcelona when they face the Spanish opponents in the Champions League semi-final on Wednesday night, despite possessing a strong and physical team.

De Gea also said that his Spanish counterparts are worth a euro 2012 bet at the European Championships this summer. De Gea will go along as the third-choice goalkeeper, and will hope to add to his burgeoning medal collection.
